Principles for Clear Scientific Writing

The writing making up science papers need not be so dense and abstract. Regardless of the discipline, sharing one’s message in a clear, coherent, and compelling manner opens the door to making a wider impact. To give researchers the tools they need to strengthen their writing fundamentals and focus their precise message, RECON offers a seminar series entitled Principles for Clear Scientific Writing.

Seminar contents detail the characteristics of clear & direct science writing from a bottom-up perspective. Established in linguistic theory, the principles are illustrated using clear, real-world examples backed by RECON’s years of editing experience and training. Attendees come away with specific strategies to craft clearer sentences, advancing their results to reach wider audiences.

Principles for Clear Scientific Writing can be flexibly adapted to fit program needs, whether a single few-hour presentation or longer series.
